Support CASA for Kids

All children deserve a safe, secure and loving home environment, don’t they? But what happens when a child’s basic needs are not met and they are abused or neglected and then removed from their home? Who advocates for those children during their time in foster care?

We do! We are CASA for Kids of East Texas. The family court appoints CASA to act for the child’s best interest. That means, our volunteers review the case history, the child’s academic needs, health needs, seek relatives for temporary placement, and work with families for reunification when possible. The assigned volunteer then advocates in court for the child’s needs, reports on progress and makes recommendations to the court.

In 2022, CASA served over 600 children.
